Day 1 – Arrival in Paro & Transfer to Thimphu

Upon arrival in Paro, our team will warmly receive you at the airport. Drive towards Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital, with scenic valley views along the way. Visit the Memorial Chorten (Stupa), a vibrant place of devotion and a perfect spot for candid portraits. Explore the lively local vegetable market filled with colorful produce and friendly vendors. If timing permits, witness an archery tournament, Bhutan’s national sport, for dynamic action shots.

Day 2 – Thimphu Exploration

Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s highlights, starting with the Takin Zoo, home to Bhutan’s national animal. Visit the Pangrizampa Astrology School, an excellent place for cultural and portrait photography. Continue to the School of 13 Traditional Arts (Zorig Chusum), where young artisans are engaged in intricate wood carving, painting, and weaving—ideal for detail and craftsmanship shots.

Day 3 – Thimphu to Punakha

Travel to Punakha via the breathtaking Dochula Pass, where 108 chortens and panoramic Himalayan views create stunning landscapes. Stroll through Punakha Town or Kaja Throm for local street life photography. Visit a serene Buddhist nunnery to capture intimate moments of monastic life.

Day 4 – Punakha Sightseeing

Begin with a visit to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, reached via a short hike offering spectacular valley views. Continue to the Fertility Temple (Chimi Lhakhang), famous for its unique blessings and rustic surroundings. Photograph the majestic Punakha Dzong, set at the confluence of two rivers, glowing beautifully in the late afternoon light.

Day 5 – Punakha to Bumthang via Trongsa

Drive eastwards through ever-changing landscapes. Stop for spontaneous photography whenever something interesting catches your eye—be it farmers in the fields, roadside shrines, or traditional houses. Visit Trongsa Museum and Trongsa Dzong, both rich in history and dramatic architecture.

Day 6 – Bumthang Exploration

Start with Jakar Dzong, offering sweeping valley views. Visit Tamzhing Monastery, a perfect setting for photographing young monks in their daily rituals. Enjoy a scenic hike from Kurje Lhakhang to Jampa Monastery, passing through charming villages and farmlands.

Day 7 – Bumthang to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)

En route, stop at Tsendebji Chorten, where you might find young monks perfect for candid portraits. Continue to the serene Phobjikha Valley, famous for its glacial landscape and black-necked cranes (in season). The wide valley offers unparalleled opportunities for landscape photography.

Day 8 – Gangtey to Paro

If time permits, visit Wangdue Castle before heading to Paro. Hire traditional Bhutanese dress (Gho/Kira) for a cultural photoshoot. Explore Kaja Throm and Paro Town for street photography.

Day 9 – Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of the world’s most iconic spiritual sites. Capture the monastery clinging to the cliff, surrounded by mist and prayer flags. In the evening, you may opt for a traditional hot stone bath (own expense) for a relaxing end to the day.

Day 10 – Departure

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some final photography moments in Paro before your departure. We’ll ensure your journey ends as warmly as it began.
