Day 01: Arrive in Paro
Your Bhutan adventure begins with one of the most spectacular mountain flights in the world, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Paro, you’ll be greeted by our representative. After lunch, explore Paro with a visit to the Ta Dzong Museum, home to fascinating religious relics and art, followed by a stop at the sacred 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples. In the evening, enjoy an orientation on Bhutanese etiquette before dinner. Overnight in Paro.

Day 02: Paro – Taktsang & Festival
After breakfast, hike (or ride by horse) to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically 900m above the valley floor—a highlight of any Bhutan journey. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the vibrant Paro Festival, where locals gather in their finest attire to witness sacred masked dances, celebrate spirituality, and socialize. Overnight in Paro.

Day 03: Paro – Thimphu
Rise early (2:30 am) to witness the sacred Thongdroel Ceremony at Paro Dzong, where an enormous religious painting of Guru Rinpoche is unfurled. Later, drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital, with a stop at Tamchhog Lhakhang, the temple of Bhutan’s legendary iron bridge builder. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 04: Discover Thimphu
Enjoy a full day exploring Thimphu: visit the National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Temple, Zilukha Nunnery, and the National Library with its ancient scriptures. If time permits, see the Takin Preserve and Tashichhodzong, home to the central monk body. On weekends, stroll through the lively Thimphu Market. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 05: Thimphu – Trongsa
Travel over scenic mountain passes Dochula (3,100m) and Pelela (3,420m) en route to Trongsa. Visit Chendebji Chorten, a striking 18th-century monument. As you approach, enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Trongsa Dzong, Bhutan’s largest fortress. Overnight in Trongsa.

Day 06: Trongsa – Bumthang
Explore the impressive Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong Museum, rich in royal and cultural history. Then journey to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, through the Yotong La Pass (3,400m) and picturesque valleys. Visit Tamshing Lhakhang, Jambay Lhakhang, and Kurje Lhakhang, deeply sacred Buddhist sites. Overnight in Bumthang.

Day 07: Bumthang Exploration
Spend the day discovering Ugyen Chholing Palace Museum, which showcases traditional rural life, and the mystical Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake), where sacred treasures were revealed by Terton Pemalingpa. Overnight in Bumthang.

Day 08: Bumthang – Punakha
Drive back west to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, with a stop at Trongsa for lunch. On arrival, enjoy a gentle evening stroll through the town. Overnight in Punakha.

Day 09: Punakha – The Palace of Great Happiness
Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, beautifully set at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Later, walk to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of the Divine Madman, revered for fertility blessings. Overnight in Punakha or Wangdue.

Day 10: Punakha – Paro via Thimphu
Hike to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a hilltop temple with stunning valley views. Continue to Thimphu for some shopping at handicraft and souvenir stores before driving back to Paro. Overnight in Paro.

Day 11: Departure from Paro
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Tashi Delek!
